Luther junior Fagan to present tenor recital

DECORAH, IA (02/26/2013)(readMedia)-- Patrick Fagan, a Luther College junior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will perform a tenor recital at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.
Fagan, the son of Tom and Cindy Fagan of Cedar Rapids, is majoring in music at Luther. He is a 2010 graduate of Xavier High School.
Fagan will perform works by Handel, Émile Paladilhe, Camille Saint-Saëns, Richard Strauss, Benjamin Britten, Ottorino Respighi and Giuseppe Verdi.
A reception will follow the performance. Both the recital and reception are open to the public with no charge for admission.
Fagan is a student of Edwin Andereck, Luther professor of music, and Jessica Paul, Luther professor of music. He will be accompanied by Luther junior Evan Mitchell. His recital partner is Brittney Leemon, Luther junior.
Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation with six choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and nearly 1,000 student musicians.
Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 350 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.
