Luther junior Leemon to present soprano recital

DECORAH, IA (02/26/2013)(readMedia)-- Brittney Leemon, a Luther College junior from McFarland, Wis., will perform a soprano recital at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.
Leemon, the daughter of Ron and Sheryl Leemon of McFarland, is majoring in music at Luther. She is a 2010 graduate of McFarland High School.
Leemon will perform works by Handel, Franz Schubert, Thomas Dunhill, Roger Quilter, Franz Liszt and Mozart.
A reception will follow the performance. Both the recital and reception are open to the public with no charge for admission.
Leemon is a student of Edwin Andereck, Luther professor of music, and Jessica Paul, Luther professor of music. She will be accompanied by Luther junior Esme Wong. Her recital partner is Patrick Fagan, Luther junior.
Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation with six choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and nearly 1,000 student musicians.
Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 350 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.
