Luther senior Greiner to present voice recital

DECORAH, IA (09/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Alex Greiner, Luther College senior from Fairfield, Iowa, will perform a baritone recital at 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.
Greiner, the son of Michael and Michele Greiner of Fairfield, is majoring in biology and chemistry at Luther. He is a 2010 graduate of Fairfield High School.
Greiner will perform works by Giovanni Buononcini, John Duke, George Handel and Robert Schumann.
A reception will follow the performance. Both the recital and reception are open to the public with no charge for admission.
Greiner is a student of Andrew Wannigman, alumni guest lecturer in music, and former student of Susan Williams, former Luther music faculty. He will be accompanied by Esme Wong and his recital partner is Sarah Edwards, Luther senior.
Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation with six choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and nearly 1,000 student musicians.
Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 350 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.
