Luther senior Sarah Stoltzmann to be honored at Social Work Graduation Celebration May 18
DECORAH, IA (05/17/2013)(readMedia)-- Sarah Stoltzmann of Afton, Minn., was honored at the Luther College Social Work Graduation Celebration Saturday, May 18 on the Luther College campus.
Stoltzmann, the daughter of Doug and Karen Stoltzmann of Afton, is majoring in social work at Luther. She is a 2009 graduate of Stillwater High School.
The annual celebration highlights the role and mission of the social worker and includes a pinning ceremony where each graduates receive their social work professional pin.
During her time at Luther, Stoltzmann completed internships with Ramsey County Human Services and the YMCA of metropolitan Chicago, working with diverse populations in both micro and macro settings. Stoltzmann also served as president of the Social Work Association at Luther.
The primary objective of the social work major at Luther is to prepare students for employment in beginning generalist social work practice. The Luther social work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and is graduating 11 seniors in the 2013 class.
