MBU's Maddy Hammack Named American Midwest Conference Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS, MO (08/29/2012)(readMedia)-- Maddy Hammack of St. Louis, Mo., is having a successful start of the 2012 volleyball season for Missouri Baptist University. In just her first week of competition with the Spartans, the outside hitter was named American Midwest Conference (AMC) Player of the Week after an impressive weekend at the Montreat (N.C.) College Invitational.

Hammack was the leader of the powerful offense in the tournament for the 14th-ranked Spartans. In just four matches, the junior slammed 59 kills and also recorded 57 digs to lead the conference in both categories. She also posted two aces and eight blocks.

Hammack was named the Montreat College Invitational Most Valuable Player and was also named the Missouri Baptist Spartan Athlete of the Week in honor of her accomplishments over the weekend.
