Action Taken: Dr. Wilken's licensed is conditioned as follows:
1. She is reprimanded
2. She shall read the Model Policy for Model Policy for the Use Opioid Analgesics in the Treatment of Chronic Pain and the CDC Guideline for Opioids for Chronic Pain- United States, 2016.
3. She shall complete, within one year, the following pre-approved course:
a. Chemical dependency awareness
b. Chronic pain management
c. Medical Records Management
d. Boundaries
4. Following successful completion of the pre-approved courses, write a paper for Committee approval describing what she has learned, reflecting on what she might have done with Patients #1 and #2, and how she will incorporate the knowledge into her practice.
5. Six months following successful completion of the pre-approved courses, shall undergo an audit of her prescribing practices.
6. She shall document a check of the Minnesota Prescription Monitoring Program database before prescribing a Schedule II-IV drug.
7. She shall develop, and submit for Committee approval, a written protocol for the management and tracking of controlled substance
8. Shall submit for approval a controlled substance agreement to be used with all chronic pain patients.
9. She shall pay a civil penalty in the amount of $9,559.90.
10. May petition for reinstatement of an unconditional license upon completion of the requirements of the Board Order.
