Madaline Becker Receives Class of 1958 Education Scholarship
MILLERSVILLE, PA (06/02/2014)(readMedia)-- Madaline E. Becker, Elizabethtown, Pa., has been selected to receive the Class of 1958 Education Scholarship. Becker will graduate from Lower Dauphin High School and will attend Millersville University of Pennsylvania this fall to study early childhood education.
This award was established by Millersville University Alumni to benefit a full-time student enrolling in an education program. This year, the scholarship is for $1,289.
While completing several courses at an honors or Advanced Placement level, Becker also found time for volunteer and extracurricular activities throughout high school. She was a member of the high school band for four years and the orchestra in grades 11 and 12, and was involved in technical theatre for four years, serving on the stage crew for all the spring musicals. She was a member of the National Honors Society and the Science National Honor Society for two years each, and a member of the English Honors Society and the German National Honors Society for three years each. For the past two years she has volunteered at her local public library, and as a teacher for a class of 3-year-olds for the past five years at her church.
