Malone University's Beth Clark Thomas Acknowledged for Leading Honor Society to Excellence
Rho Tau Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi is Named an ACE Chapter

CANTON , OH (08/04/2011)(readMedia)-- Malone University's Rho Tau chapter of Kappa Delta Pi was recently awarded the Achieving Chapter Excellence (ACE) Award – one of the highest honors that the international education honorary bestows on its institutional chapters.
To earn the distinction, Malone's chapter successfully met the criteria for excellence in programs, leadership, training, and service. Malone's Rho Tau chapter will be presented with the award at the honor society's biennial conference, scheduled for November 3 – 5 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Malone's chapter achieved the recognition under the leadership of Beth Clark Thomas, Ph.D., professor of elementary education, and Rhoda Sommers, Ph.D., dean and associate professor of education.
Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. The founders chose the name from the Greek words to represent knowledge, duty, and power. Pioneering from its beginning by including women as well as men, Kappa Delta Pi grew from a local chapter to the international organization it is today, comprising 582 chapters and more than 45,000 members. Malone will be one of only 24 chapters presented with the ACE Award.
Malone University, a Christian university for the arts, sciences, and professions in the liberal arts tradition, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church, awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 100 academic programs.
