Manhattan Attorney Andrew Needham Named Chair of New York State Bar Association's Tax Law Section

ALBANY, NY (01/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Andrew W. Needham of Manhattan is the new chair of the 2,712-member Tax Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Needham is a partner of Cravath, Swaine and Moore, where he concentrates his practice on tax advisory work in the private equity and hedge fund sectors, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture formation, spin-offs and general tax planning.

A nine-year member of the State Bar, Needham recently served as first vice-chair of the Tax Law Section.

Needham graduated from the University of Arizona and earned his J.D. and master of law in taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center. He also has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

The 77,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
