Manhattan Attorney David Schnabel Named Chair of New York State Bar Association's Tax Law Section

ALBANY, NY (09/11/2013)(readMedia)-- David H. Schnabel of Manhattan is the new chair of the 2,576-member Tax Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
He is a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions transactions for private equity and corporate clients, as well as acquisition financing and private fund formation.
Schnabel succeeds Diana Wollman, who had chaired the section since January 23. She has resigned to accept a new job as the director of international strategy for the Internal Revenue Service.
A 13-year member of the State Bar, Schnabel recently served as first vice-chair of the Tax Law Section. He is a past co-chair of the section's Committees on consolidated returns, investment fund and partnerships.
Schnabel graduated cum laude from Macalester College and earned his law degree and master of laws degree in taxation from New York University School of Law.
The 76,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
