Maple Glen Resident Jeffrey Macaluso Elected Chair of Drexel University's Alumni Board of Governors

PHILADELPHIA, PA (08/08/2011)(readMedia)-- The Drexel University Alumni Association announced the newly elected members of its Board of Governors Executive Committee for the 2011-2013 term. Elected to the position of chair is Maple Glen resident Jeffrey Macaluso '82.

Macaluso served as vice chair during the 2009-2011 term and treasurer for the 2007-2009 term. He has been the president of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Alumni Association since 2001 and a member of the Board of Governors since 2002. In addition, he has served on many Alumni Association Committees including the Global Outreach Committee, the Community Service Committee and the Honors and Awards Committee.

In his new position as chair of the Board, Macaluso has many goals for the next two years.

"The Drexel University Alumni Association grows stronger every year," said Macaluso. "And our ability to connect alumni across the world, connect alumni with the community and with the University will continue to be our primary focus. As we grow our active alumni we can use these connections to build a vital network of alumni for business and personal resources."

Currently Macaluso has a personal wealth and business advisory practice with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Philadelphia. Prior to that, he worked as a senior credit officer for Bank America. In addition to his involvement at Drexel, Macaliso is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia.

Founded in 1965, the Drexel University Alumni Association is dedicated to keeping alumni in touch, informed, involved and invested in the University. The Alumni Association continuously works to strengthen the lifelong bond between Drexel and its alumni, to support and enhance the student experience and to help shape the future of Drexel.
