Marco Leone Named to All-SCIAC Academic Team

WHITTER, CA (06/06/2012)(readMedia)-- The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) awarded Marco Leone, a Whittier College senior from Mountain View, CA with All-Academic Honors.

The All-Academic Team is made up of student-athletes who have at least a 3.40 cumulative grade point average at his/her current institution, must have completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution, and must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility. In the case of transfers, graduate students, and two-year college graduates, the student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution.

Leone who finished his final season with the Poets came to Whittier from Mountain View, Calif. and earned most improved honors in 2010 along with being a four year letter winner. This season he was named one of the captains on the Poet squad and competed in the NCAA West Regional meet.

In addition, he won the award for Outstanding Graduate in History. Marco Leone graduated Whittier College on May 11, 2012.
