MARIETTA, OHIO (11/06/2017) Marietta College has been recognized as one of America's "Colleges of Distinction" for 2018 by a national guidebook and online resource, citing Marietta as a "perfect fit for students who are naturally curious with a pioneering spirit to match."

Since 1999, the Colleges of Distinction website and guidebook have recognized and honored schools throughout the U.S. for excellence in undergraduate-focused higher education. The listings are designed for prospective college students, their parents and high school counselors.

High school counselors and educators make the nominations. Each nominated college is then evaluated on key indicators including student engagement, student empowerment and curricular innovation.

The selection process also includes a review of each institution's freshman experience, as well as its general education program, strategic plan, alumni success and satisfaction measures. Marietta College is one of 15 Ohio institutions included in the current edition.

"We are thrilled to be included amongst such a prestigious list of schools in Colleges of Distinction," said Steve Lazowski, Vice President for Enrollment Management. "Recognition from esteemed, value-based, ranking publications reiterates the value of a Marietta College degree to our current and prospective students."

The 2018 Colleges of Distinction guidebook will be available later this month at amazon.com for $14.99. Marietta College's profile is also accessible online at collegesofdistinction.com.
