Mary Baldwin College Junior Awarded Scholarship

STAUNTON, VA (05/22/2013)(readMedia)--  Rebecca Stearn of Hampton is one of the winners of the 2013 Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC)/Norfolk Southern Scholarship Program competition. Stearn is a junior at Mary Baldwin College, majoring in business. Administrated by the VFIC, these scholarships are made possible by a generous gift from Norfolk Southern, one of the nation's premier transportation companies.

The Norfolk Southern Scholarship recipients are selected in a statewide competition open to first semester junior-year applicants from all 15 members in the VFIC consortium who are seeking degrees in economics, business, finance, accounting, or related fields and interested in careers in a corporate setting. This award provides $10,000 in scholarship funding - $5,000 for each student's junior year and an additional $5,000 for their senior year.
