ARLINGTON, VA (11/11/2009)(readMedia)-- Marymount University senior hitter, Christina LaVigna was named Second Team All Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) in volleyball. She is the lone Saint to appear on the two all conference teams.
LaVigna, who finished her four-year career with 1337 kills and 1255 digs, led the team in total kills and was second in digs this season. She led the team in service aces with 47 and was second in total blocks with 49.
She was 8th in the CAC in kills per set with 2.73 and also 8th in the conference in service aces per set with 0.43.
"It has been a pleasure to coach Christina," said Marymount head coach Beth Ann Wilson. "She is a skilled, all-around player and one of the best I have coached in my 17 years. She is certainly deserving of her all conference honors."
LaVigna, a East Moriches resident and graduate of Westhampton Beach High School, was named to the All Tournament teams at the Baruch and Catholic tournaments, the only ones in which Marymount competed this season.
LaVigna is a business major and has been team captain for three years. After taking a short break following the volleyball season where the Saints finished 18-14, she returned to the basketball court for the Arlington school.
