Marymount's Kathleen Brown Named Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week
ARLINGTON, VA (12/21/2009)(readMedia)-- Senior forward Kathleen Brown was named Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week in women's basketball for the week ending December 20.
Brown, a preseason All American, returned to the court in the Saints' sixth game of the season. She won the CAC honors for her second and third games of the season in the Cruzin' Classic in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida against Adrian College and North Central College.
She had 33 points, nine rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in the two wins. She shot 60 percent from the floor and 90 percent from the free throw line as she helped the Saints to their 9-0 record.
Brown is a resident of Bethesda and a graduate of Walt Whitman High School. She is a Dean's List student at the Arlington school. She was an honorable mention All American following her junior season and also was Marymount's Female Scholar Athlete and Female Athlete of the Year in 2008-09.
The Saints go back in action on December 30 when they host The College of New Jersey at 3 pm in the Verizon Sports Arena.
