Maryville University to Host Public Relations Student Conference

ST. LOUIS, MO (02/04/2010)(readMedia)-- Maryville University will host a Pro-Am Day for the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) on Friday, Feb. 19. The daylong event will bring students from St. Louis and surrounding areas together for career development seminars.

Gary McCormick, will serve as the keynote luncheon speaker. McCormick is CEO and director of partnership development for HGTV and Scripps Networks, and chair of the national Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The day is sponsored by the St. Louis PRSA.

Sessions include:

• What is Your Curb Appeal? - Tips on creating a positive and professional image

• Diary of the Young Professionals Panel - Young professionals in the field of public relations share their experiences

• Resume Workshop - Industry professionals will review and provide tips on improving resumes to compete in the current job market

• Dream Jobs - Roundtable discussion with professionals in various industry segments

Reservations are required and limited to the first 90 student registrants. The cost for PRSSA members is $42 and $50 for non-members. PRSA St. Louis members are invited to attend the luncheon; registration is required. PRSA members may make lunch reservations through PRSA St. Louis.
