Celebrity Golf Event Set for May 5, 2014

COLUMBUS, OH (04/11/2014)(readMedia)-- The American Lung Association will hold its 2nd annual Fairways for Airways Buckeye Celebrity Golf Classic at 11 AM on May 5, 2014 at Scioto Reserve Country Club, in Powell, Ohio. Participants will golf with their favorite Buckeye greats, in support for raising awareness about lung cancer, COPD and asthma.

This one-of-a kind experience is certain to attract golfers and sport enthusiasts from around the region. Please join us for a very special day that will benefit programs and services of the American Lung Association and the Buck-Icon Foundation.

On tournament day, you can challenge yourself to win contests such as longest drive, closest to the pin, and the hole-in-one. During the cocktail reception, preview the evening's silent and live auction items. Signed OSU memorabilia and other fabulous items, will be up for grab! In addition to the auction, enjoy dinner, dessert and tournament day awards.

The American Lung Association is the leading organization dedicated to promoting lung health and preventing lung disease. The Fight for Air Climb helps fund the Lung Association in their fight for lung health.

The BUCK-ICON Foundation is a civic organization founded by former Ohio State football player and program member Mr. James Cotton. The intent of the organization is to empower and encourage members and associates of the Ohio State Football program.

The Mission of the Buck-Icon foundation is to provide resources for former members of the Ohio State football program and to enhance their careers on a variety of different levels. It helps them transition into a professional life, in Corporate American, athletics, society and within their communities.

One important focus of the Foundation is the Tackle Tobacco Campaign. Members of the Buck-Icon Foundation speaks to students, athletes, parents, administrators and coaches of the importance of maintaining a tobacco-free lifestyle by illustrating the short and long-term effects of tobacco use.
