Maverick Attwood Named NACC Men's Soccer South Division Defensive Player of the Week
The Rockford University men's soccer program had a pair of players honored by the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference when it released its weekly awards on Thursday morning. Maverick Attwood was selected as the NACC Men's Soccer South Division Defensive Player of the Week and Baruani Kamangila was chosen as the NACC Men's Soccer South Division Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first NACC weekly award for both Attwood and Kamangila and is Rockford's first NACC Men's Soccer Player of the Week award since 2018 (Anthony Beck).
Maverick Attwood tallied four saves over 110 minutes in last week's double overtime tie against Benedictine. Attwood made multiple outstanding saves during the match to limit the Eagles to just one goal. Over the previous two weeks, Attwood has now allowed just one goal in 220 minutes, has a goals against average of 0.41 and a .889 save percentage.
The RU men's soccer team travels to Benedictine University on Sunday, April 11. The match has a scheduled start time of 1:00 PM.
