Max Flerlage of Hughesville Awarded Kathryn W. Glockner Endowed Scholarship
ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (01/06/2014)(readMedia)-- Max Flerlage, a Hughesville, Md., native and junior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Kathryn W. Glockner Endowed Scholarship. Established in 2012, the scholarship benefits students who pursue majors in the fields of science, technology or math.
At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Flerlage is studying chemistry and neuroscience. "My long-term pursuit is finding a graduate program that helps me fulfill my career goal of becoming a chemical engineer or working for one of the many industries in the field of chemistry," says Flerlage.
Flerlage is a recitation leader for General Chemistry I classes. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys computer and video games, animation movies and shows, reading and music.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
