Max Flerlage of Hughesville Awarded Paul Blanchette Chemistry Current Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (02/06/2014)(readMedia)-- Max Flerlage, a Hughesville, Md., native and junior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Paul Blanchette Chemistry Current Scholarship. Established in 2012, the scholarship fund benefits rising seniors in chemistry.

At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Flerlage is studying chemistry and the neurosciences. His goals are to find the area of chemistry that interests him the most, and then build upon that with internships, jobs and graduate school.

Outside the classroom, Flerlage is a recitation leader for General Chemistry I. His interests include computer and video games, music, and reading science fiction.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, in ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
