May 5 concert celebrates the 150th anniversary of Emancipation Proclamation

present "Crossing Over: Spirituals and Gospel Songs Celebrating the Emancipation Proclamation Sesquicentennial" at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, in the college's Leffler Chapel and Performance Center. The concert is free, but a free-will offering will be accepted to help support the ensembles' May tour.
The Community Chorus, Dolce Women's Chorus, Concert Choir, Sine Nomine and Jazz Band perform spirituals, gospel songs and spirituals from the mid-1800s. The concert also features Brazilian music in honor of the Concert Choir and Jazz Band's May tour of Salvador, Brazil.
