McLeansville Resident Wins Gordon Scholarship to Wake Forest University

WINSTON SALEM, NC (07/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Paul Okoyeh of McLeansville, N.C. is the recipient of the Joseph G. Gordon Scholarship to attend Wake Forest University in the fall.

The four-year scholarship is one of the most selective in the nation.  Each winner receives an annual stipend covering the costs of tuition, room, board and personal expenses plus grant opportunities for summer research, travel and international study.

Gordon Scholars are awarded to students who show exceptional promise and achievement and who are members of constituencies traditionally underrepresented at Wake Forest.  The scholarship was established in 1986 in honor of Dr. Joseph G. Gordon by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.

Okoyeh, the son of Jude Okoyeh and Rita Okoyeh, graduated from Early College at Guilford in Greensboro, N.C.
