McMurry's QB Hurley Earns ASC Weekly Football Honor

Just one day after leading the McMurry University football team to a come-from-behind Homecoming victory, McMurry University quarterback Kevin Hurley Jr. (Diboll, Texas/Diboll H.S.) has been named as the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office.

It was quite a performance for Hurley, in spearheading the second-half assault on Belhaven University. After missing last week's game versus Texas Lutheran - and also not starting against the Blazers - after suffering an injury two weeks ago at Sul Ross State, Hurley was called on to start the second half with McMurry trailing BU, 23-7.

In just the two quarters on Saturday, Hurley completed 11-of-14 passes for 245 yards. Hurley threw four touchdown passes of 63, 10, 22 and 51 yards, as the War Hawks scored the 42-30 win. He did not throw an interception, nor was he sacked.

Hurley also ran the ball 10 times for 36 net yards on the ground.
