Medford standout commits to run at Southern California's Biola University

Stephanie Croy perfected her distance running at Cascade Christian High School and commits to run in college.

LA MIRADA, CA (12/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Stephanie Croy, a multi-sport athlete from Cascade Christian High School in Medford, Ore. commits to join Biola's track and field and cross country teams in fall 2014.

The senior distance runner runs track and cross country at her high school, but is also involves with the basketball team and student council. She is another high character addition to Head Coach Jonathan Zimmerman's program, as she is heavily involved with her home congregation.

"We are very excited and privileged to have Stephanie join our teams at Biola University," said Zimmerman. "This is an outstanding university for her to have a balanced and rewarding experience. She is a student-athlete of huge character and integrity and will be a tremendous addition to our track and cross country teams."

Croy is a four-time state qualifier in cross country, and twice she finished in the top four in the Oregon State 1A-2A-3A championships. In addition to her accolades on the cross country course, Croy is a standout in distance track events as well, finishing third or better at the 3A level in the 1,500m and 3,000m.

She is set to join Biola's women's track and field and cross country teams, which are currently the defending Golden State Athletic Conference champions.
