ALBANY, NY (11/30/2009)(readMedia)-- New York State Agriculture Commissioner Patrick Hooker will be visiting Moore Tree Farm in Groton on November 30, 2009 at 10:30 am to tout the benefits of harvesting a New York grown Christmas tree. This event will celebrate the notable Christmas tree industry in New York State and promote the use of real, locally-grown Christmas trees during the holiday season.
The Moore Tree Farm, owned by Richard and Kay Moore, was established in 1979 and consists of 60 acres of Christmas trees. The seasonal agri-tourism destination offers u-cut, pre-cut and potted trees, wreathes and garland, as well as a number of services to aid in the purchase and transportation of Christmas trees. Richard Moore was recently named President of the National Christmas Tree Association.
