BEAVER FALLS, PA (05/02/2011)(readMedia)-- In the wake of the U.S. special operation that killed Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan, Dr. Thomas Copeland, Professor of Political Science at Geneva College, is available as a background expert on the Mideast, intelligence, terrorism and national security.
Dr. Copeland, a professor of political science and humanities at Geneva, published a book based on his evaluation of United States counterterrorism policy and some of its most important and recent failures. The 2007 book, Fool Me Twice: Intelligence Failure and Mass Casualty Terrorism, is published by Martinus/Nijhoff Publishers. The book provided in-depth analysis of major terrorist attacks planned or sponsored by Osama Bin Laden, including Kobar Towers, the East Africa Embassy bombings and 9/11.
He is also the editor of a forthcoming book, Drawing a Line in the Sea, on the 2010 Gaza flotilla incident and its impact on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Dr. Copeland was named an Academic Fellow of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a non-partisan polity Institute headquartered in Washington, D.C., and traveled to Israel last summer for briefings on Israeli counter terrorism policy, including special operations.
