LVC student Cooper Gerus will give a tour of his new green roof, recently installed at the College.

ANNVILLE, PA (04/18/2016)(readMedia)-- The media is invited to cover Lebanon Valley College student Cooper Gerus '17 providing a tour of his new green roof on Thursday, April 21 at 11 a.m. as part of the College's Earth Days celebration.

Gerus was awarded a Student Innovation Grant earlier this year to install the green roof on Yuhas Commons so it is accessible to all students. Plants such as lettuce, various herbs, onions, and much more are currently growing on the roof. Then, in order to complete the cycle of sustainability, Metz Culinary will be using the crops in LVC's dining hall.

The project has involved collaboration with the College's facilities and maintence departments, as well as the biology department. All the project materials were either salvaged or donated from local businesses.

Alternate arrangements for interviews can be made upon request. Additional activities for Earth Days are listed on our website.
