Media Advisory: Stimulus Funds Environmental Cleanups
ALBANY, NY (02/11/2010)(readMedia)-- New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Pete Grannis and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator Judith Enck will join other local and state officials in announcing new local projects being funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to remove contamination and spur economic development.
What: DEC and EPA announce a new "stimulus" initiative that will fund the clean-up of abandoned underground fuel tanks across New York.
Where: 380 North Pearl St. in Albany – the site of the former Courtney George Mobil, an active petroleum spill cleanup project.
When: 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 12, 2010.
