Meg Gruen of King George Awarded Maxwell B. Roberts Music Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (01/06/2014)(readMedia)--  Meg Gruen, a King George, Va., native and senior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Maxwell B. Robers Music Scholarship. Established in 2006 by Karen J. Horton and John J. Roberts, the scholarship benefits students in the music program who have academic merit.

At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Gruen is studying music and English. She hopes to enter the Masters of Arts in Teaching graduate program at St. Mary's and focus on English as a second language or literacy.

Outside of the classroom, Gruen is involved in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Cultural Dance Club and orchestra.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
