Megan Chesney Transfers to Trevecca
NASHVILLE, TN (10/03/2012)(readMedia)-- Megan Chesney, who has spent the last two years at the University of Tennessee at Martin, is transferring to Trevecca to play for Head Softball Coach Ben Tyree.
Chesney, who played for Murfreesboro Riverdale (Tenn.) High School, will be a part of the 2013 Trevecca softball team and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
"We are very glad to have Megan join our team this year. She has the desire to be an asset to our team and do whatever is necessary. Megan is a very good player and we are looking forward to her finishing her career here at Trevecca," Tyree said.
A Riverdale High School graduate, Chesney played for coach Jeff Breeden. She was a Daily News Journal All-Area team selection three times. Chesney was also an All-District and All-Tournament team selection. She helped lead the Lady Warriors to four straight district championships from 2006-09 and a Region Championship in 2008.
Chesney was also a member of her team's 2009 TSSAA State AAA Championship. In 2008, she was a member of the Firebirds, a USFA World Series participant along with fellow Trevecca teammates Breanna Zeis and Natalie Papini.
Trevecca Nazarene University is a Christian liberal arts university located in Nashville, Tenn., Music City, USA. Trevecca's athletic teams are in the second year of a three year transition to NCAA Division ll status.
