Megan Dwyer Sings National Anthem at SUNY Oneonta Baseball Night

SUNY Oneonta senior Megan Dwyer delivered a stirring rendition of the National Anthem at the first ever SUNY Oneonta Night with the Oneonta Outlaws baseball team on July 16.

Historic Damaschke Field in downtown Oneonta was filled with Red Dragon spirit as several hundred employees, alumni, students, families and friends gathered for a night of community and free baseball. It was a celebration of the university's connection to the local community and a chance for future and current Red Dragons to enjoy America's pastime together, watching as the Oneonta Outlaws took on the Saugerties Stallions.

Instead of returning home for the summer to Syracuse, NY, Dwyer, a Digital and Studio Art major and Theatre minor, remained in Oneonta to work with SUNY Oneonta's Information Technology Services. She was honored to be asked to sing the National Anthem at the game, and her parents made the trip to see her perform.

"I've been in many SUNY Oneonta productions and performances," Dwyer said, "so being able to represent the school in this way off campus is a big honor."
