Melanie Ragon of Franklin receives Faraday Physics Scholarship

MILLERSVILLE, PA (06/14/2011)(readMedia)-- Melanie R. Ragon, of Franklin, Pa., has been selected to receive a Faraday Physics Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman at Millersville University of Pennsylvania based on academic merit with an emphasis on grades earned in math or science.

Ragon is attending Millersville this fall and will study physics. She completed a college preparatory curriculum and several Honors level classes including biology and earth and space science, and Advanced Placement English, at Oil City High School. Ragon was also involved in extracurricular activities in high school including band, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, soccer and her church youth group.

The Faraday Physics Scholarship is a renewable award, for up to two additional semesters, of $317 for the recipient's first two years at the University as long as the recipient continues to make academic progress and pursues physics as a major.
