Mellencamp Coming to the Iowa State Fair Grandstand

DES MOINES, IA (02/24/2017) (readMedia)-- Rock veteran, John Mellencamp, is the latest edition to the 2017 Iowa State Fair Grandstand line-up. Mellencamp is set to take the stage on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. This will be the first time Mellencamp has performed at the Iowa State Fair. Tickets are set to go on sale Friday, March 3rd at 10:00 a.m.

John Mellencamp's 35 year career has transitioned from pop star to one of the most highly respected singer/songwriters of this generation. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, his other awards include: a Grammy Award, the John Steinbeck Award, the ASCAP Foundation Champion Award, the Billboard Century Award to name a few. Also one of the most successful live concert performers in the world, with popular hits; "Jack & Diane," "Hurts So Good," "Small Town" and "R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A." John Mellencamp's upcoming album, Sad Clowns & Hillbillies, is set to be released on April 21, 2017.
