Mendelssohn Club Announces 107th Annual Holiday Concert

"Winter Wonderland" on Friday, December 11

DELMAR, NY (12/01/2015)(readMedia)-- The Mendelssohn Club of Albany will perform its traditional holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 11th at The Egg. The 107th holiday concert – "Winter Wonderland" - will feature a range of traditional, classical and modern holiday-themed music.

"We are very excited about our upcoming holiday concert and our guest artists," said Mendelssohn Club president, Dr. Fred Eames. "The combination of a great program and our talented and very accomplished guest artists should provide a wonderful evening of holiday music for our audience."

Joining the club as guest artists for the evening will be the Bell Top Boy Choir and popular harpist Karlinda Caldicott. A conservatory-trained professional, Ms. Caldicott is the harpist with the Schenectady and Catskill Symphony Orchestras. The East Greenbush Central School District's Bell Top Boy Choir is a group of singers in the second through fifth grades that performs frequently at school and community functions throughout the Capital District.

About The Mendelssohn Club: A Capital Region tradition since 1909, the 60-voice male chorus is the area's longest continuously performing arts group. The club is composed of men from the Capital District, Hudson Valley and Berkshire regions, and performs a full range of male choral selections from around the world. The Mendelssohn Club is conducted by Jeffrey L. Vredenburg. Mr. Vredenburg is a graduate of the Crane School of Music, State University College at Potsdam, New York where he majored in Music Education, Voice, and Piano. His post-graduate education includes a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the State University of New York in Albany and choral conducting seminars with Donald Neuen, Dale Warland, Robert Page, Gregg Smith, and Margaret Hillis. Pianist Michael Clement serves as the club's accompanist. Mr. Clement was trained at the Eastman School of Music, the University of Arizona, and the University of Southern California.
