DELMAR, NY (11/22/2011)(readMedia)-- The Mendelssohn Club of Albany will perform its traditional holiday concert at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9th at The Egg in Albany, NY. The club's special guests for the evening will be the Niskayuna High School Bel Canto Singers, and the Bell Choir of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. A Capital Region tradition since 1909, and celebrating its 103rd season, the 70-voice male chorus is the area's longest continuously performing arts group. An evening of both classical and popular holiday music is planned, and the concert offers a perfect way for Capital Region residents to welcome the holiday season.

"This holiday season we will sing a wide range of traditional carols and other songs to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah," said club president Dr. Michael Casler. "We are very excited to welcome back Jeff Vredenburg, who previously served as the club's director from 1989 to 2001. We also are very excited to welcome two talented local groups from the Capital Region as our guests."

Tickets are $18 and can be obtained by calling The Egg box office at 473-1845. Please visit the Mendelssohn Club online at www.mendelssohn.org for more information.
