Menifee, California Native Hayden Schmidt Named to All-SCIAC All Academic Team

WHITTER, CA (06/06/2012)(readMedia)--  The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) awarded Hayden Schmidt, Whittier College Sophomore from Menifee, CA with All-Academic honors

The All-Academic Team is made up of student-athletes who have at least a 3.40 cumulative grade point average at his/her current institution, must have completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution, and must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility. In the case of transfers, graduate students, and two-year college graduates, the student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the nominating institution.

The Whittier College Poets concluded the SCIAC season 5th in the team standings. Schmidt helped this cause by earning 2nd Team All-SCIAC honors who moved up in the Championships from 25th place to catch six competitors late to finish in 19th with a time of 27:11.47.
