Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council Meeting Scheduled
ALBANY, NY (09/10/2008)(readMedia)-- The New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) will host a meeting of the Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council (MRDDAC) on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The meeting will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Capital District Developmental Disabilities Office at O.D. Heck, 500 Balltown Road, Schenectady, NY, in Conference Room 2. The event will be broadcast live on the Internet, and can be accessed by logging on to the NYS Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Web site:
“The New York State Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council, as established by Mental Hygiene Law 13.05 is an advisory body to the Commissioner of the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. In cooperation with the Commissioner, the Council has the duty to foster public understanding and acceptance of mental retardation and developmental disabilities, establish statewide goals and objectives for services for persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, and consider any matter relating to the improvement of the state mental retardation and developmental disabilities programs.”
