Michael Jones Honored at Western New England College

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/21/2011)(readMedia)-- Michael C. Jones of Stone Ridge, NY, received the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England College. The award is given to a graduating senior who exemplifies outstanding citizenship and character, excellence in athletics, and excellence in academics.
A captain of the men's tennis team, Jones graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society and was included in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities. He has been recognized multiple times as The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week, was awarded the Coaches Award for Excellence in 2010, and recently received the Most Valuable Player award. In addition, Jones served as president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
