Michelle Steahl of Lusby, Md., is recipient of a Pat Collins Calvert County Scholarship at St. Mary's College of Maryland.

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Michelle Steahl of Lusby, Maryland has been awarded a Pat Collins Calvert County Scholarship at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The scholarship was established by Ann Collins in 2003 in memory of her husband and benefits students from Calvert County with academic merit and financial need.

Steahl, Class of 2013, is majoring in English with minors in studio art and philosophy. She is a member of the Tolkein Society and St. Mary's Triangle and Rainbow Society (STARS). Steahlenjoys computer-aided drawing and intends to pursue a career as an author.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
