Mike McCray Named Male Athlete of the Month

HERKIMER, NY (01/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Herkimer County Community College has named Mike McCray, Men's Basketball, New York, NY, male athlete of the month for December 2011. A Sports & Recreation Management senior, McCray's average on the season is 12 points and four rebounds per game. Coach Matt Lee said, "Mike has done an outstanding job of taking on more of a leadership role this season, and has improved his focus both on and off the basketball court."
HCCC's Green and Gold Club honors an outstanding male and female athlete each month.
Herkimer County Community College is a unit of the State University of New York, located in Herkimer, NY about 20 miles east of Utica, NY. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 students, Herkimer offers more than 40 associate degree and certificate programs, on-campus housing, an active co-curricular activities schedule and a national championship athletic program. Herkimer is a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has amassed 33 national, 85 regional and 126 conference championships. Herkimer placed second in the 2010-11 National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup competition.
