MANCHESTER, NH (03/27/2012)(readMedia)-- Saint Anselm College senior, Ashley Therrien of Milford, N.H., performs the lead female role of Laurey Williams, in the Anselmian Abbey Players' production of "Oklahoma!"

The musical tells the story of life on the Oklahoma plains in the 20th century. Therrien's role as Laurey has been one of her favorites. "To perform a classic Rodgers and Hammerstien musical like "Oklahoma!" which really changed musical theatre, is a dream come true," says Therrien. This is Therrien's sixth and final Abbey Player's production. She also played the Cat in the Hat in the Abbey Player's performance of "Seussical, the Musical."

Therrien is majoring in business and minoring in fine arts theatre. She is currently interning with the Palace Theatre in Manchester, N.H. where she is working in corporate development, helping to raise money. Outside of school, she co-founded a small, Christian theatre company Life Line Drama where she is performing in the traveling production, "A Time to Mend" in April. Therrien hopes to pursue a career in musical theatre.

The Abbey Players have already completed two performances, but the musical continues on March 30 and 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Dana Center at Saint Anselm College. For additional information visit www.anselm.edu/dana.
