Miller Named MIAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week

Junior Troy Miller of the Trine University football team was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Special Teams Athlete of the Weekon Oct. 10 after securing the first lead of the game for team against Adrian College.

It was the first time in Miller's career to earn the award.

Miller of Sandusky, Ohio, made his presence known in the third quarter of the game, by coming up with a crucial punt block. After the offense came up with their second touchdown of the game to tie the contest at 14 points, the Thunder defense forced a three-and-out with Adrian setting up to punt on their own 22 yard line. Miller led the charge through the line to block the punt with the ball sailing backwards into the endzone. There sophomore Cole Dean came up with the recovery to earn the team its first lead of the day.

The Thunder went on to win the contest 34-14, retaining possession of the Border Brawl trophy for another year.
