Millersville University Announces Third Place Winners of Brossman Science Lectureship Competition
MILLERSVILLE, PA (11/07/2011)(readMedia)-- Anthony Wittemann and Mason Emmert, both of Lampeter Pa., from Lampeter-Strasburg High School, placed third in the Brossman Science Lectureship Competition on November 3. The 27th annual Brossman Science Lecture, with participation from 28 high schools, includes a competitive examination for high school sophomore and junior science and mathematics students.
Awards were given to students within the top three high schools who participated in the competition. First place went to Brody Troutman and Matthew Suggs from Red Lion Area High School; and second place went to Yanqi-Tyson Chen and Max Lupfer from Central York High School.
The winners were recognized and received their awards at 7 p.m. during the Brossman Lecture given by Dr. Edith Widder, deep sea explorer and biologist. Widder also cofounded the Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of marine ecosystems.
