Miranda Stinson of Bloomington Honored in International Poetry Competition

EVANSVILLE, IN (03/16/2012)(readMedia)-- The University of Evansville is proud to announce that creative writing major Miranda Stinson, a Bloomington resident, has received an award in Sigma Tau Delta's international poetry competition. Stinson's "Six Poems on Youth and Age" placed third in the original poetry category.

Stinson, a graduate of Bloomington High School South, received the award at Sigma Tau Delta's annual convention, held February 29-March 3 in New Orleans. There, she attended panels and workshops and presented her own original work.

Sigma Tau Delta, an international English honor society, has over 800 active chapters in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. The organization's central purpose is to confer distinction upon students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies.
