Mission Viejo Standout Commits To Run At Biola
Christina Clark can do a little bit of everything on the track, and she will do so at Biola University.
LA MIRADA, CA (05/28/2014)(readMedia)-- Christina Clark knows how to get elevated. She competes in the jump events and the pole vault at Mission Viejo High School, and she just signed on to join the Golden State Athletic Conference championship team at Biola next season.
Clark is an Orange County native who competed in track and field and soccer in her time at Mission Viejo. She also serves as a leader in a children's ministry (Kid's Alive). The group helps children worship through song, drama and prayer.
On the track, she is a versatile and successful athlete, who has been a recipient of the Diablos' "Future Pride of the Diablos" award as well as the "Coach's Award."
"Christina is an awesome find for us," said Head Coach Jonathan Zimmerman. "She can contribute to the team in so many events, including sprints, jumps, hurdles and pole vault. She is an awesome competitor with a great heart for the Lord."
Ckark's personal-best in the pole vault is 10-feet-10-inches, and she has gone 17-feet and 35-feet-10-inches in the long- and triple-jump, respectively.
She enters the university in the fall, and she plans to study kinesiology with hopes of entering a career as a physical therapist.
