Modesto's Michael Cerda Named to All-HAAC Baseball Team

CANTON, MO (05/26/2011)(readMedia)-- Culver-Stockton College third baseman Michael Cerda has been named to the 2011 All-Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) baseball second team, the league announced recently.
Cerda, a junior from Modesto, Calif. (Beyer HS / Modesto College), fought off an early season injury to play in 34 games and make 33 starts. He batted .309 with six doubles, a triple and a home run. He scored 17 runs and garnered 21 runs batted in. He also walked 14 times and had a .404 on-base percentage.
The Wildcats finished the 2011 season with a 37-17 overall record and captured their seventh HAAC regular season championship with a 24-4 league mark. Culver-Stockton advanced to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament, going 1-2 in the opening round.
The HAAC consists of 11 colleges and universities located in four states, including Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
