HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/10/2011)(readMedia)-- On May 8, at commencement ceremonies marking the end of the 236th academic year at Hampden-Sydney College, Mohsin Mehboob Fazlani, Class of 2011, received the Anna Carrington Harrison Award. The award was presented by Dr. Robert T. Herdegen III, Dean of the Faculty at Hampden-Sydney College. The Anna Carrington Harrison Award, a medal and cash award, is given annually as a memorial to his mother by Mr. Fred N. Harrison of Richmond. It is awarded to that student who shows the most constructive leadership in each school year.

Fazlani, a Madison Scholar, served as Chair of the Student Court and as a Resident Advisor. He is a member of the honorary societies Omicron Delta Kappa (leadership) and Omicron Delta Epsilon (economics) and the professional scientific fraternity Alpha Chi Sigma. At H-SC he was active in the Pre-Health Society, Habitat for Humanity, the French Club, and the Student Investment Group. An economics and commerce major, Fazlani is a graduate of Mills E. Godwin High School and is the son of Mehboob & Farzana Fazlani of Richmond.
