Molly Prater Secures Grant for Underprivileged Children
CANTON , OH (06/03/2011)(readMedia)-- Molly Prater of Marietta, Ohio,, a 2011 graduate of Malone University with a master's degree in school counseling, was awarded $10,000 in grant monies to purchase equipment, uniforms, boots, and more for students planning to attend the Washington County Career Center but with no means to pay for their supplies and needed apparel.
The grant was secured as part of an internship through Malone University. According to Susan L. Steiner, Ph.D., associate professor for counseling and human development at Malone, "It was an extensive writing process, but it paid off. The money will be utilized for the students of Warren High School in Marietta, Ohio for years."
Malone University, a Christian university for the arts, sciences, and professions in the liberal arts tradition, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church, awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 100 academic programs.
