ALBANY, NY (06/06/2007)(readMedia)-- Governor Spitzer’s proposal to eliminate the fingerprint imaging program and swell New York's welfare rolls will lead to more fraud and abuse, increase the burden on taxpayers and divert limited resources from those in need.
He should abandon this reckless plan and focus on the real priorities of New York’s families-- tax breaks for seniors and businesses, Upstate economic development initiatives, the death penalty for cop killers and other critical issues-- before the Legislative session ends.###
